Hello,

my name is Maii. I am 27 years old and I come from Bucaramanga in Santander Colombia. Fashion is very important for many Colombians. Most of my family works in the fashion industry, so I grew up in between sewing machines, fabrics, yarns and sewing patterns. I have always been fascinated by vogue and fashion. Therefore it was very obvious for me that I also studied fashion design. After my studies I worked for different Colombian designers and alteration tailors. In search of the perfect job I even tried myself in modeling. Finally, in spring 2017, everything turned out differently than I thought. On my 24th birthday I was in Taganga with a friend of mine to celebrate my birthday. There on a beautiful beach on the Colombian Caribbean coast my life was about to change forever. Because there he stood. Simon, my meanwhile husband from Germany. Simon had been on vacation in Colombia. He didn’t knew a word of Spanish at that time but somehow we immediately liked each other and spent the next 4 months together on the Colombian coast. In August 2017 we flew to Germany together for the first time to get to know his family and the German culture. One exciting year later in August 2018 we got married and since then we live in beautiful Lower Franconia. I like it here very much, but I still have to get used to the cold weather here. From Simon’s mother I got an older Singer sewing machine and with it I have already designed and sewn some clothes for friends and acquaintances. In the meantime I have already increased the size of my small studio and now I have a Bernina and an overlock from Singer. Since I’m in Germany I had the wish to bring a complete own fashion collection on the market here. No sooner said than done. With the support of Simon and his cousin Basti I have designed a small but, in my opinion, very fine swimwear collection. We found models via social media and from Simon’s school friends we were able to hire a top photographer. In the late summer of this year we already had the first shooting for my swimwear collection 2021. With the support of Simon and Basti, who are responsible for brand development, positioning, marketing and sales, we will continue to develop the MaiiB brand step by step. MaiiB will always stand for exclusivity, quality, sustainability and small collections, because every single piece is designed and sewn by me. Of course you can still get custom-made items for special occasions on request. So do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to the future and to many exciting projects.
